What size do your shoes come in?

Our shoes start from a size 35 (UK2) and go up to a size 42 (UK9). Please note that there may be certain styles that are available in sizes 36 (UK3) to 42 (UK9) only.

Take a look at our size guide below to find your size in Continental, UK, US and Australian sizings.

What sizes do your ankle boots come in?

Our ankle boots are available in 3 different foot widths (just like our width fitting shoes): narrow, standard and wide. They don’t come in a range of ankle measurements; however you will find that the narrow width fitting in the foot will offer a narrower ankle fitting, and the wide width fitting in the foot ensures a wider fit on the ankle. Going up in shoe sizes, the ankle size will also increase slightly. A few ankle boot styles have laces which can be adjusted to guarantee a good fit on the ankle as well as foot.

For more information on width fitting, please have a look at our shoe fitting advice page here. Or if you would like further advice on ankle fittings, give us a call on 00800 3862 6687.

You may also want to consider our range of mid-calf boots, as these will give you an uncompromised fit on the calf without coming up to your knee, creating a different look. In our mid-calf boots collection you will find styles suitable for shorter legs or which simply provide an alternative to full-length boots

Do your shoes and ankle boots come in half sizes?

Our shoes and ankle boots start at a size 35 (UK2) and go up to a size 42 (UK9) in many styles, but we do not offer half sizes. We will always do our best to help you find the right fit, and having a perfect fit across the width of the shoe often helps to secure the perfect overall fit.

Sometimes you may simply need a wider fitting rather than an extra half size in length. You may try a size up with an insole, which provides padding and more comfort for your foot in the shoes. Please look at our product reviews here to get a better idea of the fit of each of the styles.

What widths do your shoes and ankle boots come in?

Our width fitting shoes and ankle boots come in 3 widths, named NARROW, STANDARD and WIDE.

When you receive your parcel from us the sizing will be marked as follows:

  • Narrow (marked on the box, on the sole of the shoe, and on the despatch documentation as “V”)
  • Standard (marked on the box, on the sole of the shoe, and on the despatch documentation as “W”)
  • Wide (marked on the box, on the sole of the shoe, and on the despatch documentation as “X”)

Please have a look at our width measurements for each foot size in the following table:

How do I measure the width of my foot?

Take a fabric tape measure and place it on the floor cm side down (Tip: a piece of string and a ruler will do the job just as well.) Alternatively, download and print a measuring tape here

  1. Put your foot flat on the floor and stand firmly on the tape measure.
  2. Measure around the circumference of your foot at its widest point. This is usually from the bone just below your big toe, to the bone below your little toe (N.B. The tape measure should be at a slight angle).
  3. Make a note of your measurement. Foot size can vary, so please measure both feet and use the wider measurement.
  4. In the Search by Size tool, click on your continental foot size and then choose your corresponding width fitting; ‘narrow’, ‘standard’ or ‘wide’. E.g. if you are a foot size 37 and your feet measure 21.5cm then you would be ‘narrow’.

Do you make an AA or AAA (extra narrow) fitting?

Our narrow fitting tends to be much narrower than that of regular high street shoes, and sometimes putting an insole in helps to take up the extra space in the shoe if you have particularly narrow or shallow feet, so therefore we do not make an extra narrow fitting. Please measure your foot and have a look at our width fitting measurements table below:

There may be certain styles that tend to come up narrower, depending on the cut. Please contact us and we will be happy to recommend the styles that may be suitable for your feet.

I have particular podiatry needs, how do I know what will fit best?

DUO shoes come in 3 different widths to ensure fit, comfort and effortless style. Certain cuts and styles will suit your podiatry needs such as high arch, bunions or insoles.

If you have bunions, you may want to choose shoes that offer a higher cut at the front to make sure the shoe does not dig in. Avoiding very high heels and choosing a medium heel or flat shoes will provide necessary support for your feet without putting too much pressure on your toes and joints. Having a wide fitting available in any DUO shoe will make it easier for you to accommodate for the extra width necessary for comfort.

If you have a high instep, you may want to look at shoes that do not have a Mary Jane strap across the foot, thus offering a more generous width across the instep and ankle. Flat pumps or heels without straps may be more suitable for you.

If you have a high arch, you may want to choose shoes that will provide more support for your foot and will hold it securely. Mary Jane style heels or flat shoes with laces or a strap across the foot may suit your foot better and make sure it is secure in the shoe.

If you have specific podiatry needs and usually find it hard to choose comfortable footwear, you may benefit from visiting one of our stores and trying our shoes on. Take a look at our stores page here to find your nearest DUO store. Otherwise, if you need help feel free to call us at 00800 3862 6687 or email us here and we will be happy to advise on styles that might suit you.
