Deep, dark shades are more relevant than ever as the seasons change
The Cruise collections show rich reds pack a sartorial punch as we move into the new year. Oxblood, Bordeaux, ruby, maroon, call them what you will, these moody reds don't need to be saved for after dark but can bring some drama to transitional daywear; note The Row's loose fitting tunics and trousers or Marni's pleated, knee-length skirts. Similarly, for the office take inspiration from the neat skirt suits at Lanvin, Nina Ricci's chiffon shirt-dresses and pencil skirts and blazers over at Emilio Pucci.

Oxblood and Bordeaux are versatile tones and works well with both neutrals and brights, making them the perfect transitional shades. DUO's Aztec mule, for example, works as well with indigo jeans as it does with a bright floral dress come summer, while the glossy patent Kimi loafer would look chic paired with a patterned Capri pant or opaque black tights. For elegant workwear the Darcel loafer and boxy Jina bag would be excellent; wear as a colour pop against a monochrome ensemble or for extra fashion points clash with a shade of pink.
