On Friday 2nd March the DuoBoots team will embark on a 500 mile cycle challenge to raise money for our chosen charity, Smart Works.

Smart Works is an incredible charity helping women in need get back to work, by providing them with the practical skills and self confidence they need to succeed at an interview and get back into employment.

The team at Smart Works provide invaluable sessions on interview skills and styling, which leaves candidates feeling empowered to present their best self when it comes to meeting prospective employers.

We’ve already donated several pairs of boots to Smart Works, which are given to their clients as part of a capsule wardrobe to wear at an interview or in a new job.

Find out more about DuoBoots’ partnership with Smart Works.

Kate went to Smart Works having applied for over 100 jobs and being unemployed for a year.

“The people at Smart Works are so positive and it's infectious. They helped me feel confident that I would get the job and picked an amazing outfit that made me feel great about myself. They reminded me about the great qualities I had, why I'm a good candidate and how to shine. At Smart Works you experience people who are passionate about helping you not only look your best but be your best."

Our “Scrambled Legs” team will cover 500 miles on road bikes and spinning bikes, the equivalent distance between the five cities where Smart Works operates; Edinburgh, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Reading and London.

Our team is made up of Toni, Jack and Amy from the Marketing Team, Tori from the Customer Care team and Tim from the Technology and Operations team. With the exception of Tim, we are by no means cycling experts, so this really is a challenge!

The event comes to an end on International Women’s Day, Thursday 8th March.

To find out more, see our JustGiving page; we’d be so grateful for any help you can give to this fantastic organisation.
